The Belfast Maskers Theater Company is preparing to forge ahead into a new, full season for 2014! The planned schedule includes the riveting drama Agnes of God; a concert version of Fiddler on the Roof; a summer production of the hilarious Once Upon a Mattress; and, pending approval, a spectacular show for and with children is in the works for late summer. Also, in the fall, the Maskers are planning staged readings, a dinner theater, and finally, a holiday show. All this, plus the annual USO-type show to honor the armed forces, and the popular summer theater camp for children. It’s a full year and everyone is excited to begin, but of course we can’t do it without support from our community. Here is how you can be a part of this season’s production team:

Fiddler on the RoofAuditions for Fiddler on the Roof, concert version, will be held on Sunday, March 2nd from 1:00-3:00pm at the First Baptist Church (vestry), 95 High St., Belfast. Most roles are open, including leads. There are singing and dancing roles for all ages. We need a fiddler, too.

Auditions for Once Upon a Mattress will be held on Saturday, April 19th from 1:00-3:00pm at the First Baptist Church (vestry), 95 High St., Belfast. Seeking actors for supporting roles and chorus. Singing and dancing roles for teens and adults.

The Maskers are also looking for volunteers to help with sets and costumes for all shows. Those with artistic flair, an eye for design, and skills with a needle and thread or a hammer and nails are encouraged to volunteer.

The company is pleased to announce that Agnes of God will feature Chris Goosman as Mother Miriam Ruth, Katie Glessner as Dr. Martha Livingstone, and Maggie Goscinski as Agnes. Agnes of God is a drama by John Pielmeier, produced through the cooperation of Samuel French, Inc. Performances will be held at Emerson Hall in Castine on April 11, in Searsport on April 12 (venue to be determined), and the Belfast Boat House on April 17, 18, and 19.
