Belfast Creative Coalition Receives $10,000 Davis Family Foundation Grant Award

The Belfast Creative Coalition (BCC) is pleased to announce that it has recently received a grant from the Davis Family Foundation for $10,000.  This grant is in support of BCC’s marketing efforts for the arts and culture in the Belfast area. This marketing project falls under BCC’s mission to cultivate the creative economy of Waldo County. To fulfill this mission, BCC has created an online directory of artists, musicians, actors, poets, crafters, farmers, and local food producers at www.belfastartsandculture.org. The website directory has been experiencing an impressive amount of traffic in only its first nine months, attracting visitors from Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and beyond. This website and directory will be marketed through the Davis grant. Creatives that would like to benefit from being listed in the directory can sign up on the website under the “Submit” button.

“Grantors like the Davis Family Foundation understand that by supporting a coalition their funds will go to support hundreds of artists and other creatives in the area. These artists and creatives attract dollars and jobs to Waldo County. It’s a way to have their grant benefit many at once” said Kimberly Callas, Belfast Creative Coalition Coordinator.

Belfast Creative Coalition has also recently received an Arts Expansion Grant from the Maine Community Foundation to create a Farm and Art Studio Tour. This tour will also be marketed through the Davis Family Foundation Grant. Participants are now being sought for the Farm and Art Studio Tour. There is a sign up form on the BCC website. If someone would like the application mailed, they can call BCC at 207-323-8692.
