Come Boating! presents a talk from W. Hodding Carter

March 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Come Boating! Winter Adventure Series continues at the Belfast Free Library Tuesday March 20th, 6:30 pm with Camden author W. Hodding Carter giving a presentation about his recent voyage in a retracing Benedict Arnold’s 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City.
Come Boating! Belfast’s Community Boating Organization and the Belfast Free Library are cosponsoring this event which is free and open to the public.

On Sept 26, 2017, a group of experiential historians, led by Carter, set off from Pittston, Maine to retrace Benedict Arnold’s 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City for the Continental Army. They built a replica 18th-century pine-planked bateau and covered a grueling 350 miles upriver, over land and then downstream to reach Quebec City on November 4, 2017.

The Winter Adventure Series concludes on Tuesday April 17th, 6:30 with a film presentation of Losing Sight of Shore, a documentary film by Sarah Moshman about the extraordinary journey of four brave women that set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia. This special screening is made possible with support from Front Street Shipyard.
