In addition to showcasing the beautiful work of 50 exceptional artists and artisans from Maine and New Hampshire, the festive marketplace will also give show goers the chance to sample the delectable products of local food purveyors and meet local Maine authors. Again this year, admission fees will benefit Coastal Mountains Land Trust (www.coastalmountains.org).
The artisans, who were invited to participate based on the premier quality of their work, will be offering a wide selection: jewelry in many mediums, pottery, hand-crafted wooden furniture, fine art prints, drawings, mixed media paintings, quilts, sculpture (stone, metal, and clay), photography, wearable textiles, Maine-made candles, stained glass, floral art, and bird carvings.
For the first time this year, the ArtFull Gifts Show will spotlight local authors on Sunday afternoon. Vicki Doudera, Elizabeth Hand, Jeff Foltz, John Cobb, Kathleen Fox and others will be chatting informally with visitors as they autograph books with personal inscriptions. Children, accompanied by their adults, are invited to ArtFull Gifts Storytime from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Amy Hand (Miss Amy), Camden Children’s Librarian, will read stories about kids’ adventures exploring art in their own unique ways.
A Cocktail Gala on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. will kick off the weekend, providing the first opportunity to meet the vendors and make selections from their full array of merchandise. Adding to the atmosphere will be live jazz by Chris Poulin’s Shades of Blue, a cash bar, and complimentary nibbles provided by Crazy Dick’s Cajun Foods, Fiore Olive Oils, Oyster Creek Mushrooms, Atlantic Baking Company, Belfast Co-op, Ducktrap Smoked Seafood, Fresh Restaurant, Gelato Fiasco, State of Maine Cheese, Thorndike Creamery, Eat More Cheese, and other treats from some of Maine’s fine food purveyors. The evening is a perfect time to socialize with others who believe in buying locally created fine art, craft, and foods while supporting a local non-profit. Friday night admission is $10.
The show continues on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission on Saturday and Sunday is $3.
“We are so pleased to provide this opportunity to shop for unique gifts, all finely hand-crafted by New England artists,” says show director Randy Fein, who will also be exhibiting her ceramic pieces. “And we are very excited to include some of our outstanding local food purveyors and authors this year for the first time. The ArtFull Gifts Show is a wonderful place to find special treasures to give or to keep, all while supporting the local creative economy.”
Point Lookout Resort is located on Route 1, half way between Camden and Belfast. For a full list of artists, food artisans, and authors, visit artfullgifts.com or facebook.com/ArtFullGifts, or contact the show director, Randy Fein, at email@example.com.
