There will be an informal poets’ Tashlich tomorrow Thursday, September 25 at 5:30 pm on the Memorial Bridge in Belfast. Just something simple, breadcrumbs and a few poems, bring one to read.
Tashlich is performed on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. It is customary to recite special verses and throw bread crumbs into the water. We’ll recite our own verses. Tashlich comes from the Hebrew word meaning “to cast,” referring to the intent to cast away regrets via this Jewish custom common to both Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities.
Come partake of Tashlich and honor the days of awe–the 10 day period between the beginning and end of the Jewish New year, Just arrive at the Memorial Bridge (town side) in Belfast at 5:30 on time, Thursday September 25th.
Please pass this invitation on.
