In celebration of their new public printmaking studio, Waterfall Arts invites print-makers of all ages to submit their work to an open call show that will be held in the Clifford Gallery at Waterfall Arts in Belfast in April and May, 2014. 

Any print created by hand, with or without the use of a press, will be welcome. Acceptable techniques are linocut (and related techniques), woodcut, gelatin print, collagraph, blueprint, intaglio, dry point, aquatint, silkscreen and lithography.Block Print, Waterfall Arts (No digital media, please) Each individual is allowed one submission and all work submitted for the show must be suitably framed and ready to hang. Work should be delivered to Waterfall Arts, 256 High Street in Belfast, March 25th to 28th, during business hours which are 10-5 Tuesday through Friday. Waterfall Arts will be offering free printmaking demonstrations during February and March to acquaint people with the studio and accessible printmaking processes. Workshops in several different printmaking techniques will also be offered. Interested parties should contact the office at 338-2222 for more information and to register.  Print will open on Friday, April 4 with a reception from 5 to 7pm and run until May 30. Work need not be for sale but if it is, the commission to Waterfall Arts will be 40%, and the artist receives 60%.

Monotype Print, Waterfall ArtsBegun in 2000, Waterfall Arts is the area’s non-profit community art center, a hub for creativity of all kinds and all ages.  Their mission is to create community in harmony with nature through the transformative power of the arts through classes, free art exhibitions, life drawing sessions, art talks, music shows, film screenings and performance, youth after-school art clubs, studio rentals and outreach to the community in a variety of ways. And now, thanks to a grant from the Kennedy Family Foundation, in addition to a fully-equipped clay studio, they have created the print studio which will focus on environmentally-friendly processes.  More information can be found at www.waterfallarts.org, or by contacting info@waterfallarts.org.
