Peg’s FUNd to Benefit Waterfall Arts
Waterfall Arts is honored to be named the recipient of proceeds from a special event and sale organized by friends of Peg Worth on Sunday, May 31 from 3 to 6 pm. Peg, who passed away recently, was a great spirit whose life touched many people. One of her wishes was to create a scholarship fund (Peg’s FUNd) benefiting the artists and students of Waterfall Arts. She asked that some of her own artwork and some of her favorite pieces from other artists that she had collected over the years, be sold with proceeds earmarked for Waterfall Arts.
Peg’s Friends invite one and all to the gala event at Peg’s house (104 Northport Avenue, Belfast) on May 31st beginning at 3 pm. There will be a $10 admission fee; art work and objects will be sold through silent and live auctions. There will also be a garage sale of household items. Refreshments will be served and, weather permitting, there will be a celebration in the garden. Pictures of some of the art and items for sale can be seen on the Peg’s FUNd facebook page.
Since 2000, Waterfall Arts has served as the midcoast area’s non-profit community art center, offering innovative classes, open studios, free after school art clubs, workshops, exhibitions, studio rentals, and cultural events. The center is supported by the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, private donations, and yearlong business sponsor, Revision Energy. Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in Belfast. For more information, visit waterfall arts.org or call 207-338-2222.
