Artfull Gifts Art, Craft, and Fine Food Show

For one weekend a year! 2016’s ArtFull Gifts show will take place over a Friday evening and Saturday early in the holiday season – check back in April for a finalized date.

A broad spectrum of exceptional Maine-made craft, art, and fine food gifts awaits shoppers at the festive ArtFull Gifts Show at Point Lookout. Featuring the work of 50 select exhibitors, the show also includes free demonstrations, delicious Maine-made foods, and live music, all in a beautiful venue with a commanding view of Penobscot Bay.

A Gala Preview Party kicks off the weekend with the first opportunity to make selections from the exhibitors’ full array of merchandise. The Gala is an upbeat evening out, supporting our creative local economy while getting your holiday shopping underway.

The show continues for a full day of arts, crafts, and food the following day. More demos are slated for Saturday – check the website for updates

Show-goers are welcomed to Point Lookout with a crackling fire in a huge stone fireplace, setting the mood for discovering the creations of 50 fine Maine artists and artisans and food purveyors. The talented exhibitors offer an exciting array of wearable art featuring: silver, gold, glass and mixed jewelry; artist designed clothing and accessories of natural fiber in silk cotton and wool for everyone from adults to toddlers, a collection of artist made hats to top out your winter wardrobe, wood sculpture of realistic birds; fine porcelain and stoneware pottery , fine art paintings and one of a kind Christmas cards plus Maine made bath and body products; home furnishings and artisan produced foods such as, fine chocolates, jams and preserves plus so much more.

“Many exhibitors say they happily welcome back customers who return every year with gift lists in hand,” says Randy Fein, the show’s executive director. “Shoppers often tell us they especially like chatting with the artists while purchasing very reasonably priced gifts directly from them.”

“ArtFull Gifts is a terrific place to spend the day and mingle with friends while getting your holiday shopping done,” says Fein. She suggests show-goers make a day’s outing at Point Lookout and plan to drive or hike the half mile up to the top of the one site mountain for a panoramic view of the bay or walk to the onsite rocky beach. “Then come back to the show and enjoy some wholesome food in the ArtFull Gifts/Good Kettle Café,” Fein recommends. “And continue shopping at the show, as this group of Maine talent comes together at ArtFull Gifts only once a year!”

A strong advocate for Coastal Mountains Land Trust, Fein serves as the summer steward for Fernald’s Neck Preserve, one of the locations protected by the conservation group that benefits from a percentage of the gate fee. “What could be better than supporting this important organization while enjoying some great local shopping?” says Fein. “CMLT provides opportunities for the public to access and explore natural places in our community such as the new Passagassawakeag Greenway Trails in Belfast, Fernald’s Neck Preserve in Lincolnville and The Bald Mountain Preserve in Camden to name a few of my faves. I believe everyone benefits emotionally, spiritually, and physically from the preservation of these pristine natural habitats. I am so proud that our event’s admissions assist the mission of CMLT,” she says.
