Pastel painter, handmade book artist, and sometimes crafter Janalee Welch recently relocated to Belfast where she has set up a studio in her home at Robbins Rd. The studio is in the walk out basement of her home which overlooks the Passagassawakeag River as it enters Belfast Bay. One will recognize her home by the solar panels on the roof and the large awning which keeps the passive solar home cool in summer It is a quick walk to the Public walking trail (sponsored by Waterfall Arts) where beauty abounds and loons call to their mates. Janalee offer guests the opportunity to see pastel painting in action and even to try their hands at it. Her artwork is displayed and for sale in the studio/ gallery.
One might canoe or kayak up the river, land on the bank of the river just beyond the last home on the right bank and walk a few yards up the road to her studio. A Cultivate sign will be set out during the October farm/studio tour.
