BFLThe Belfast Free Library will be sponsoring reading programs for all ages this summer. For the first time, middle school/high school age students will have a program of their own. Gemma Laser, recently hired as the teen librarian, has put together a list of retro/classic titles, too good to be missed! Reading 5 of these titles will be rewarded with some nifty coupons from generous merchants for ice cream, pizza, drinks, tacos and so much more! Check in at the new teen room on the second floor of the library for details.
Youngsters aged 6 –10 also have program. Read a mystery, non-fiction, realistic fiction, historical fiction, fantasy book plus a free choice to receive a book bag and free book.

Sign-up at the library beginning June 23rd for complete details. The youngest of our readers are welcome to sign-up as well, and set a goal for the number of books to be read to them over the summer.

Tuesdays will be craft and story days for 6 – 10 year olds. Come in at 10:30, right after the toddler story time, to listen to stories and make a craft. The crafts and stories will be related to the performer who appears on Wednesdays. The first performer of the summer will be Steven Corning, a juggler and comedian who will perform Wednesday, June 25th at 7:00. Scot Cannon will present a mime and music workshop at 2:00 on July 2. Musician and instrumentalist Rob Duquette will perform July 9 at 7:00 and Norman Ng will return on July 16at 7:00.
