Addiction Speaks Auditions
AUDITIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE OF AN ORIGINAL THEATRE PIECE ADDRESSING OPIOID AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION IN MAINE, September 4th and 5th from 6-8pm at the Basil Burwell Community Theatre, 17 Court St., Belfast, ME. Looking to cast 2 men and 1 to 2 women.
Addiction Speaks (by Suzanne Ramczyk, professional stage director from the Boston/Providence area) incorporates true stories from recovering addicts, incarcerated users, and families and friends of such who have suffered the loss of their loved ones due to this epidemic. The piece utilizes spoken “choral odes,” music and movement to connect these dramatic, biographical monologues. The performance of Addiction Speaks, produced by The Belfast Creative Coalition and RAW (Restorative Art Works), will be the capstone of a two-day Arts for Social Change event in Belfast, “RAW 4 Change/Art in Action Project” of November 1st and 2nd in Belfast. https://belfastcreativecoalition.org/art-in-action-project/
Rehearsals, 3 nights/week in Belfast, will start September 8th and run through October 29th, with an additional tech-dress rehearsal. Performances are November 3rd, 9th and 10th.
