Jon Byrer created the puddled painting above, Two Trees, in his Jackson, Maine studio and has recently become a BCC member! Welcome Jon! Jon currently has a few of his paintings hanging in the Opera House Video store in Belfast. In addition to painting, Jon enjoys creating music. Listen to him play live, Saturday April 11th, on WERU’s 89.9FM Wicked Good Music Hour starting at 4pm.

Earth Days Waldo County has been busy preparing for this years Earth Day events which begin Wednesday April 22th and continue through to Sunday April 26th. From a community supper, to talks, a movie, hikes, a parade, a pageant, poetry and more, there is sure to be something  that will help you Celebrate Earth Day! Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, please contact Bev Roxby (beverlyteach@gmail.com) or With Breath Puppetry (withbreathpuppetry@gmail.com).

And for all you music lovers out there don’t forget to purchase your tickets today for the  All Roads Music Festival coming up on May 16th in Belfast! A Maine Songwriters Circle at the Colonial Theatre was recently added to Saturday’s line-up. Join Lauren Crosby, Jay Basiner, Stesha Cano, Anna Lombard, Dave Gutter, and Chris Ross as each songwriter performs two original songs and speaks with the audience about their influences and process, before ending the event by covering a song of their choosing.

Also, you may have the opportunity to join the All Roads family as a volunteer! Between or after shifts, you can attend music performances and other festival events for free! All volunteers must be 18 years or older. Shifts are predetermined and range in duration. Please email us at hello@wearelaunchpad.org for an application. A representative from All Roads will then arrange a phone interview with you. If you are accepted as a Volunteer, an Orientation will be held in advance of Festival weekend in Belfast. Waterfall Arts has enough participants to run the next cycle of Life Drawing!They are at the bare minimum and could use a few more participants. Please spread the word! This cycle is set to run until June 27th with 12 sessions. If you haven’t registered for your 6 discounted sessions then there is still time. Please call 338-2222 or show up on Saturday April 11th with your $60.
