Dan Bennett is a jewelry maker whose work is on display at the Parent Gallery in Belfast.
Why did I become an artist?
To create beautiful objects with precious stones and metals. Its wonderful to hold the tools in my hand. To hammer, bend, melt, and form. To cut and polish the stones I loved as a kid. To change dull to dazzling. My materials come from the ends of the earth, even outer space. Everything about my craft is magic. Often my jewelry is given as a symbol of love and affection. There’s nothing better than that. There’s nothing else I’d rather do.
