Kay Sullivan’s drawings and paintings portray nature’s energy. They are a reflection on time’s passing: its rhythms, cycles, seasons. Emphasizing marks and materials, she strives to maintain a balance allowing the landscape to emerge with her marks. These marks are the evidence she leaves of having been present, here.
Kay received her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She is a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine.
The studio is located on the second story of her riverfront home on Route 3 in Palermo. It is a short walk through the woods from the house to the river. These trees and water are the main subjects of Kay’s work.
The studio is open by appointment and during Open Farm/Studio days.
