The Master of Education (M.Ed) Program is designed for educators interested in building skills for effective school leadership and administration. The UMaine College of Education and Human Development features nationally recognized faculty, who are actively engaged in educational leadership research and scholarship. The college is ranked among the best education graduate schools in the nation, according to U. S. News & World Report. Programs are designed to meet the needs of working professionals, with coursework offered on a flexible schedule. Study may be full or part-time. The Educational Leadership Cohort, at the Hutchinson Center, is comprised of a group of students who take all of their courses together on one evening per week.
The M. Ed Program seeks Pre K through 12 educators looking to take on new leadership roles, such as principals, teacher leaders and coordinators at schools in Maine and beyond. Our graduates are able to pursue careers with nonprofit and government education agencies at the state and national level.
