Maine Lobster Festival seeks 2017 festival poster design; deadline November 1!

The Maine Lobster Festival is looking for an artist to create the 2017 festival poster. Every year, thousands of these posters are hung all over Maine and beyond to promote the Festival … and to be sold as art keepsakes. The festival is looking for just the right creative talent to make 2017’s poster for the festival’s 70th anniversary. The winner will receive a $1,000 commission and must release the rights of the artwork to the Maine Lobster Festival.

A requirement for the poster is a large lobster, so it is helpful for the committee to see a sample lobster. The winning artist will be chosen by a committee. After the artist is chosen, he or she will have until March 15 to get the finished poster artwork to the committee.

Artists are asked to submit samples of their work to Jim Brickel at jbrickel@midcoast.com by November 1, 2016!
The Maine Lobster Festival attracts thousands of people to Maine’s Midcoast region, and has a long tradition of giving back to the local community. For more information, visit mainelobsterfestival.com
