Art Classes and Workshops Coming Up at Waterfall Arts

Ecoprinting Susan Smith There’s still time to get creative with art classes and workshops at Waterfall Arts! Space is available in Susan Smith’s Eco-Printing workshop on Saturday July 30th and for Torchwork All Levels led by Marta Bernbaum August 1 to 5 at Waterfall’s Montville location.

 

Bernbaum will also lead a Sequencing workshop on Saturday August 6 from 10 to 12noon. The workshop will stimulate your creative energy with hands-on painting that removes judgement and promotes process. Kris Engman offers four days of Plein Air Painting on August 8, 10, 11 and 12 focusing on color theory and how to make it work outdoors. Students can take one, two, three or all four days with daily critiques.

 

Ceramic artist Linda Stec holds a Raku class on August 16 and 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, where students can hand-build or throw clay on a wheel. The pieces will be completed at a Raku Firing Party on August 26.

 

For young artists, there’s Art Together Mornings on Saturday August 6th from 10 to 12 noon. The theme for this adult and child activity is You Can Draw! Bridget Matros delivers fool proof methods to “I can’t draw” adults that teaches them to sketch and helps kids take their drawing skills to the next level. It’s stress free and fun – the way drawing should be. On August 2nd to 4th, Shawn Brewer teaches kids age 8 to 15 how to make and print funky, cool designs for clothing and more.

 

All classes have minimum and maximum enrollment thresholds, so early registration will improve the chances of the class running and your slot in it. Complete information on classes, workshops, scholarships, instructors and easy online registration can be found at waterfallarts.org.

 

Raku Firing2016 marks Waterfall Arts’ tenth year in Belfast offering innovative classes, open studios, workshops, exhibitions, after school programs, studio rentals, and cultural events. The organization is supported by yearlong sponsors Cold Mountain Builders, All Creatures Acupuncture, and Revision Energy and for Kids and Family Programming, the Green Store.
